Practice signs
We design your legally compliant practice sign and take care of the installation
Fortunately, the times when the law stipulated exactly what a practice sign had to look like and how big it could be are over. Although there are still specific requirements regarding the content of practice signs (you can find a very good overview of this in a publication from the Ärztekamer Nordrhein Practice signs/advertisements), but today the creative realisation enjoys considerably more freedom.
As an agency for practice marketing, the design and realisation of practice signs is practically part of our daily business. Even though digital practice marketing measures are becoming increasingly important, you should still make sure you have good and appealing signage. Signs are a very simple and cost-effective way of drawing attention to your practice, especially in places where there is a lot of public traffic. Below you will find a small selection of practice signs that we were able to realise.

Practice signs FAQ
Frequently asked questions about practice signs
- What mandatory information should be on the practice sign?
This depends on various factors, which we cannot sufficiently analyse here due to lack of space. However, below you will find a collection of links to help you find an answer to this question, categorised by specialist area.
- Human medicine: → Mandatory information for practice signs
- Dentistry: → Mandatory information for practice signs
- Alternative practitioner: → Mandatory information for practice signs
- What material should I use for my practice sign?
This depends primarily on your own ideas and sometimes also on the local specifications (some property management companies, for example, ensure that all signs are standardised and therefore specify which material should be used). We usually realise practice signs with acrylic glass or Plexiglas, as the signs have a very noble and high-quality appearance. However, our customers also often request aluminium dibond signs.
- Do I need planning permission for my signage?
In principle, so-called fixed installations that indicate a trade or profession and are visible from public traffic areas must be authorised.
These include:
- Signs,
- Labelling,
- Paintings,
- Illuminated advertising,
- Showcases.

- Which provider is used for production?
This is basically up to you. However, we are happy to take care of the printing process once the artwork has been designed - for example via online print shops such as Flyeralarm or WIRmachenDRUCK or in cooperation with local advertising technicians.
The advantage of having advertising technicians on site is that they can also take care of the installation, any building applications and complicated issues (e.g. lighting of the sign).
